Who we are
A Jesus-centered contemplative community nurturing spiritual practices that help people detox from dehumanizing and death-dealing patterns of life and renew loving and whole rhythms of life with Jesus for the sake of our neighbors.
What is a contemplative community?
A contemplative community is a rhythm of intentional gatherings sent out, yet distinct, from typical church structures where people can (re)orient their life in Jesus' presence, not in spite of the world, but rather in the midst and for the sake of the world.
Who is this for?
The confused, doubting, and weary who still long for sacred space to rediscover or recenter their lives in the way of Jesus
Those seeking to reconstruct a way of life with Jesus beyond anemic and/or destructive expressions of church and spirituality they have experienced
Pastors and lay leaders looking for support, training, or respite
People looking to explore or grow in spiritual practices and/or compassionate cultural engagement
Postures and values
Sacramental and liturgical (anchored in the Anglican and contemplative traditions in a world of constant noise and cheap religious talk)
Prophetic dialogue with our social context (moving beyond antagonism and culture wars)
Following God’s Spirit with one another to cross socio-ethnic boundaries that divide and oppress (seeking repentance, reconciliation, and repair rather than defensiveness and avoidance)
Following Jesus’ example by gaining a reputation as a friend of sinners (rather than “Us vs Them”)
Allegiance to Jesus - the crucified, resurrected and exalted Lamb of God (in a world where ungodly, partisan power is leveraged for religious purposes)
Practices
Monthly rhythms of Word/Table
Weekly prayer
Workshops, learning labs, discussion groups around timely issues
Spiritual formation groups
Soul care, retreats, and spiritual direction
